So-Low Ultra Low Freezers are produced with high quality craftsmanship, heavy-duty materials, and over 50 years of experience. These freezers use a cascade refrigeration system, providing reliable and durable environmental conditions for your product’s vital temperature requirements.

Units have a 16-gauge cold rolled steel exterior and interior is 14-gauge galvanized, non-corrosive steel. Galvanized steel conducts temperature more efficiently than stainless steel. This creates less stress on the compressors making them run cooler and longer.

Dual display digital temperature control shows actual chamber temperature on red LED display and the setpoint temperature on a green LED display. This gives assurance that the freezer is operating at the correct temperature range.

Laboratory professionals world-wide have recognized the dependability and efficiency of So-Low Ultra Low Freezers, the first to combine all of these performance features and deliver a level of quality construction, reliability and value unequaled anywhere in the world.

Available in a wide variety of sizes and styles to accommodate your individual needs.

Temperature Control: Digital control with two temperature displays showing actual and setpoint temperatures

Alarm System: Battery operated alarm system emits audible and visual signals when there is a mechanical or electrical failure. The alarm has over/under temperature setting, alarm silencing switch and battery test switch

Door Gasket: Frost and ice build-up along door gasket is minimized by a heater harness located beneath the channel cap away from the inner chamber

Performance Tested: Each freezer is tested under the most demanding conditions for seven days in the factory before being released by quality control

Remote Alarm Relay: A relay for a remote alarm hook-up is provided

Refrigeration System: So-Low cascade type. Two hermetic compressors. CFC & HCFC free refrigerants

Construction: Chamber is 14-ga. zinc coated galvanized steel. Exterior is 16-ga. steel, powder-coated cool gray finish. Super heavy-duty door hardware. Removable sublids to reduce cold air loss during lid opening. Heavy-duty locking casters. Made in the USA.

Certifications: cETL electrical approval

Warranty: EXCLUSIVE! Five year parts & labour warranty by IDEAL Scientific

Need extra protection while processing dangerous samples? The BioBox™ Bullet Blender® is designed for you with an extra barrier of protection! This model enables you to homogenize up to 24 samples (tissue, cells, etc) simultaneously in separate screw-cap microcentrifuge tubes with additional protection against pathogens and other potentially hazardous samples. Quickly process your samples – grind up tissue, cells, small organisms and more in just 3 – 5 minutes. Full automation ensures that you get highly reproducible results, while the locking enclosure which is kept under negative pressure provides an extra level of protection unmatched by other automated homogenization systems! The handling of dangerous samples is reduced further as the samples are contained inside the microcentrifuge tubes the entire time.

Simply load up to 300mg of your samples with grinding beads and your choice of buffer in standard screw-cap microcentrifuge tubes and place the tubes in the BioBox Bullet Blender. Close the Bullet Blender and the BioBox and lock the containment unit. The run is started using the exterior control panel and the patented striking technology causes the beads to be rapidly agitated inside the tubes, breaking up the samples and lysing the cells in just a few minutes. Extract DNA, RNA, proteins, small molecules, or even intact organelles, bacteria or viruses!

Secondary enclosure for containing contaminants

Negative Pressure to ensure leaks are inward and contaminants do not escape

Interlocks to indicate that the secondary enclosure is closed and seal is intact

Transparent – to visually confirm tube and sample integrity

The Bullet Blender is built into a negative pressure, locking containment unit. The housing and containment unit are clear so leaks or spills are readily identifiable. Controls are mounted on the outside of the unit.

Warranty: 2 years

Ordering Alert: The BioBox™ Bullet Blender® units are final sale only.

Extra powerful Bullet Blender® Blue 50 homogenizes better and faster. Processes 50mL tubes – up to 8 soft samples or up to 4 tough tissue samples per run. Each tissue sample can be up to 3.5g or cell culture combined with buffer up to 20mL. Air Cooling™ technology prevents samples from heating up.

This Bullet Blender model enables you to homogenize, disrupt or lyse up to 8 samples at a time. Simply place your sample, beads and buffer into the tubes, then place them in the Bullet Blender. Tune the extent of disruption by adjusting the run time and speed. The patented striking technology of the “bullets” in the instrument and the mechanical action of the beads homogenizes the samples. Afterwards, place the sample tubes in a centrifuge to separate the lysate. No special holders are needed. There are no clamp plates or locking rings to fiddle with.

Consistent: Run up to 8 samples at the same time under microprocessor controlled conditions, ensuring experimental reproducibility.

High Yields: Delivers high yields from samples up to 3.5 g.

High Throughput: Multiple sample homogenizing occurs in parallel, so your work is done in a faster, more consistent manner.

No Sample Heating: The Bullet Blender Blue model comes with an integrated system to maintain ambient temperatures.

Fast and Easy: Fully homogenize most samples in only a few minutes. User friendly with only two settings to select – time & speed (intensity). The time of the run may be set for 3 to 15 minutes (in increments of 3 minutes). The wide range of speeds from 1 to 10 allows for gentle vortexing, vigorous homogenization or anything in between.

No Cross Contamination: There are no probes or blades to cause cross contamination or sample loss, which also means there are no parts to clean between runs. The sample tubes are kept closed and self-contained during homogenization.

Compact: The footprint is only 13″ (33cm) wide by 14″ (35cm) deep.

Versatile: Can be used in temperatures ranging from 4°C to 60°C (avoid condensation, which will damage electronics & void the warranty).

Economical: Sells for one half to one fourth the price of other agitation-based instruments due to its simple, reliable design.

Warranty: 2 years
